What it is
Some things flow on their own: seeds grow up, roots grow down, cats land on their feet, winter turns into spring. Other things only look natural. Someone designed the current, with incentives, ads, laws or habits, and now it flows as if nobody were in charge.
The distinction matters because the two need different responses. You go with a natural current. A designed one you can question, and sometimes redirect.
How it shows up for me
I caught myself once listing “people voting against their own interests” next to cats landing on their feet, as if both were nature. They aren’t. The second one has a history, and people who benefit from it. Now, when I’m about to call something natural, I look for the designer first.
