What it is
Lenox Lohr, a former president of NBC, noticed that ideas came most readily while doing something that keeps the mind alert without straining it: shaving, driving, sawing wood, fishing, or just chatting. Some of his best ideas came from things he picked up casually, completely unrelated to his work. The mind needs a little room to make unexpected connections.
