What it is
Every part of the ego took a job at some point to protect you: the scorekeeper, the performer, the rebel, the one who numbs. Attack those parts and they escalate. The more useful move is to change who they report to. Each part keeps its skill and loses its old job.
How it shows up for me
Many of my parts still report to an old contract: be seen only on terms that guarantee a good verdict. I’m trying to reassign them to my first value, intimidad, being genuinely near people. The performer’s energy can go into being present. The scorekeeper’s attention can go into noticing what people need.
The self-test is three questions: which part just fired, what was its old job, and what’s its new one?
