What it is
Trickle-down economics promised that wealth would flow from the top to everyone else. What actually trickles down, I think, is conduct: how the people with power behave. When the top is dishonest or corrupt, that comes down as a crisis of values and integrity.
Values live inside, where nobody can see them. Conduct is the only part anyone can see, and the only part anyone can stop. Conduct is what you do when you have a little bit of power over somebody else.
How it shows up for me
Everyone has a little power over somebody: a kid, an employee, a waiter, a junior engineer. That’s where I try to watch myself, because that’s where it trickles.
