What it is
Amazon’s Fire Phone had 3D tricks nobody had seen before, and it ended in a $170 million write-down. Innovation can’t be forced on people. To catch on, something new has to pass two tests: it has to be useful, with a real extra benefit, and it has to save time, energy or money. People will even pay more, but only if it makes their life better in some way they can feel.
How it shows up for me
It’s my first question for any feature I build. Not “is this clever?” but “what does this save the person using it?”
