Pragmatism over pride

At 2 a.m., exploding is the path of least resistance. Helping takes effort.

What it is

When pride and practicality disagree, picking the practical thing. Pride asks “how does this make me look?” Pragmatism asks “what actually helps?”

How it shows up for me

The clearest moments are with family, where the right answer sometimes means giving up something my ego wanted, like being right, or being seen a certain way. It’s one of the values I find hardest to live when I’m tired. At 2 a.m., the choice is between helping and lashing out, and pride always votes for lashing out.
