What it is
The amount of information available puts a premium on brevity. To make things quick, the unfamiliar parts get cut, and the insight about what’s important and true goes with them. You end up processing a lot and understanding little, with no foundation underneath.
A newer twist: AI is prolix. Smart is now concise.
How it shows up for me
I want this Field Guide to be short, and I’m aware of the trade. My rule is to cut words, never steps in the reasoning. If an entry gets shorter and you understand less, I cut the wrong thing.
