What it is
Judgment is forming an evaluation or a decision. It rests on two things that come first: perception, how you see and interpret, and discernment, how you weigh what something means.
It runs inward, toward your own thoughts and actions, and outward, toward other people and situations. Judgment isn’t the enemy. Without it there’s no wisdom. What matters is its quality: clear judgment is rooted in what’s actually there. Corrupt judgment is rooted in fear, ego or the story you already wanted.
How it shows up for me
“Don’t judge” never worked for me as advice, because I can’t not judge. “Judge cleanly” works better. When my verdict about someone shows up before I’ve really looked, I know it’s the corrupt kind.
