What it is
The usual meaning of perfection, no flaws at all, is impossible, and chasing it mostly produces anxiety. A more useful meaning is completion: doing a thing fully, with attention and integrity, the way a river flows without fighting itself.
The question worth asking is whether you’re practicing toward mastery or punishing yourself for not being enough. Those can look the same from the outside.
How it shows up for me
I’ve used “perfect” as a whip on myself for years. When I swap it for “complete,” I finish more things and enjoy them more. The work gets better too, which surprised me.
