What it is
We usually know where we store some tension, a tight chest, tense shoulders. A simple breath scan can find what we’ve missed. Breathe slowly and continuously, without pausing between the inhale and the exhale, and notice where the breath snags or hiccups. Those snags point to where tension is sitting.
Once you find one, explore it: its shape, where it seems to come from, what it might be about. Write down what comes up, remembering the body speaks in metaphors, not literally.
How it shows up for me
My snag is almost always in my upper chest, and it’s almost always about something I haven’t said yet.
