Broccoli in a skillet. Salt, oil, and a splash of water under a lid. About 15 minutes. One serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ tablespoon black pepper, optional

Equipment

  • Skillet with a lid

Method

  1. Wash the broccoli in cold water.
  2. Heat the pan and the oil over medium. You will need the lid later.
  3. Cut the florets in half.
  4. Put them in a bowl where you can mix well.
  5. Add the salt and mix.
  6. Add other seasonings, 1 tablespoon per cup of florets.
  7. Put the florets in the hot pan, trying to get the stem in contact with the pan.
  8. When the broccoli turns bright green, about 5 minutes, add 1 tablespoon of water and cover.
  9. When the water evaporates, it is ready.

Notes

  • Stem against the pan is the side that browns. The water and the lid finish it.
